HoleMole #1 is the smallest expandable core-hole former in the HoleMole range. It is designed for concrete openings measuring 2 to 3 inches in diameter, equivalent to approximately 51 to 76mm. Its compact size makes it a practical choice for smaller redundant service penetrations, drilled cores and repair openings in concrete floor slabs.
The former is lowered through the core hole from the working level. Its one-way perimeter sections fold inwards as they pass through the opening, then return to position below the slab. Pulling upwards on the threaded rod seats the Mole against the underside, creating a base that supports the specified repair material without first fixing a temporary plywood board from the floor below.
Each HoleMole #1 is manufactured from 16-gauge galvanised steel and supplied with one 24-inch threaded aluminium rod, approximately 610mm long. The Mole Stand, SpeedNut and Speed Chute complete the application system and are available separately or as part of the HoleMole Contractor Starter Kit. How to Use
How to Install HoleMole #1
- Measure the clear diameter of the concrete opening and confirm that it falls within the 51–76mm range.
- Prepare and clean the opening in accordance with the project specification and the repair-material manufacturer’s instructions.
- Connect the supplied threaded rod to the centre of HoleMole #1, fold the perimeter sections and lower the former through the opening.
- Pull the rod upwards until the Mole is seated securely against the underside of the concrete slab.
- Position the Mole Stand, secure the rod with the SpeedNut and use the Speed Chute to place the specified repair material.
- Finish the repair flush. Once the material has achieved the required set, remove the reusable application tools and trim or break the rod in accordance with the approved method statement.
Important: HoleMole is a forming and support system. It does not by itself provide a structural, fire, acoustic or waterproofing classification. The complete repair must be designed and installed to the project requirements.
